My Story

I started in healthcare the same way most of you are starting now — answering phones, rooming patients, handling whatever needed handling, and figuring the rest out as I went. No mentor pulling me aside. No one drawing me a map. Just me, the work, and a lot of learning that happened in real time whether I was ready or not.

When leadership suddenly disappeared from my workplace, I didn't have the option to wait for someone to come save the day — so I became the person who did. Five years of managing healthcare operations will teach you things no certification can.

What it taught me most is how to spot the difference between someone who is qualified and someone who looks qualified on paper. I've reviewed enough resumes to know exactly why good candidates get passed over — poor structure, generic summaries that say nothing, irrelevant details that bury the real story, and transferable skills that never get named. The resume isn't the problem. Nobody taught them how to write one for this industry.

That's the gap I'm here to close. I built Foundations Healthcare Careers for the person who has what it takes but hasn't figured out how to show it yet. I know what healthcare hiring managers are looking for because I've been in those rooms. I'm going to tell you exactly what they see — and exactly what to fix.

Apply for Interview Prep

Every week you wait is a week someone else gets the role you're qualified for.

Here's what actually happens when you keep putting this off.

Another application goes out with the same resume that hasn't been working. Another hiring manager spends 8 seconds on it and moves on. Another opportunity closes. And you stay exactly where you are — not because you aren't capable, but because the document representing you isn't doing its job.

The healthcare job market does not pause while you get ready. Roles get filled. Cohorts get hired. Interview slots go to the people who showed up prepared. And every cycle you sit out is a cycle of experience, income, and momentum you don't get back.

You already know what you want. You already know this field is where you're headed. The only thing standing between where you are right now and where you're trying to go is a resume that doesn't tell your story yet and an interview you haven't practiced for.

That gap is closable. In one session.

The question isn't whether you can afford to book this.

It's whether you can afford to keep waiting.

What Makes This Different

Here's something most people don't realize when they go looking for help with a healthcare resume or interview prep: the majority of services out there are run by professional resume writers. People who are skilled at formatting documents and choosing keywords — but who have never once sat across from a candidate in a healthcare setting, never managed a front desk through a billing crisis, never watched a provider lose patience with staff who couldn't keep up, and never made the call on who gets hired and who doesn't.

Healthcare knowledge and healthcare experience are not the same thing.

I know what it looks like when a medical assistant genuinely understands patient behavior versus one who just learned the terminology. I know what it means to deal with insurance companies on a Monday morning when three prior authorizations got denied and the schedule is full. I've seen how physicians actually operate — what they need from their support staff, what they notice, and what makes them trust the people around them. I've developed the mindset this field requires, not by reading about it, but by living it.

That's what you're getting when you work with me. Not a resume writer who studied healthcare. An actual healthcare professional who knows exactly what your hiring manager is thinking when they open your document — because I have been that hiring manager.

And unlike the services that charge $200, $300, or $500 for a resume rewrite from someone who has never worked a single day in a clinical or administrative healthcare setting, I keep my prices accessible on purpose. Because the people breaking into this field deserve real guidance from someone who actually knows it — without having to go into debt to get it.
